SCHEDULE TIME TO GET AWAY FOR YOURSELF (GRAB A DRINK)

Your'e wedding day is the more important day of your life. So shouldn't it be stress free! From guest list, to venues and vendors, invites, and dresses there is so much to think through go over and prepare to have the day you always dreamed of. You have worked this hard and you deserve to have the wedding of your dreams. The good news is your ahead of the game and here talking to the right person. I have worked with brides and couples and have helped ensure that they are comfortable on their wedding day. I have put together a list of vital things for you to remember to ensure your day is smooth and you are stress free! So read through and if you need more advice lets grab a coffee and chat about how we can make this an easy process!

With everything that we have going on at this time in our life it is easy to forget about this. This particular tip is close to home for me as I am a type 1 diabetic and can't understate how important it is to stay healthy so I feel my best. We all get stressed when planning big parts of our life and nothing is bigger then your wedding day. Looking your best is important but feeling your best is just as important and it all starts with staying healthy. Eating right and finding a little bit of time to work out will only help us feel our best on a day when it matters most. 

This is especially useful if you are getting married at a large church. Having a pre ceremony rehearsal or just a walk through is a great way to feel prepared come day of. There can be a lot of working parts in the ceremony and understanding when to walk and where everyone has to be can be overwhelming. That is why I recommend calling your venues and doing a walk through or rehearsal so everyone has a better understanding of where to be and how it all will come together day of. Most Churches and venues are generally happy to help and this is a great way to get to know the people you may be working with at your venues. As anything in life the more we prepare the better we feel when the time comes so be as prepared as possible so you can alleviate as much of the stress and pressure as possible and enjoy your time with your loved ones.  

This is probobaly the best way to understand and feel comfortable with the working parts of the whole day. It may take a bit of time to get through putting this all together but this is the best way for everyone involved to understand whats happening. A day of time line will explain to everyone where they need to be when they need to be there and what will be happening. It also will help you schedule the day properly to understand how much time you will realistically need to accomplish what you have planned for the day. How long will each brides maid need to get the hair and make up done, how long will we need with our photographer when we do bridal party photos if you do your do diligence in your day of time line all of this will be set up and ready to go. Also remember to include your photographer and other vendors that will be involved in the planning of that day so you can have a proper timeline in regards to how much time is needed. Remember your photographer will be there all day with you so he or she should be apart of helping you understanding the time that goes into everything. 

I totally understand wanting to take the reigns on everything when it comes to your wedding day. We want it to be perfect and feel if where in charge of all the planning we will ensure its everything we wanted. But it is overwhelming and that is why you should rely on the people who are there to have our backs when we need them most. Your Maid of honor and your bridal party can be such a huge help before the wedding in the planning phases but also day of in helping keeping everything on track and running smoothly so you don't have to worry. So whether its helping send emails to vendors, or helping coordinate family and friends day of, or just being someone to be there and talk to you. Rely on those people in your bridal party and I am sure they will help make your day run smoothly.

This falls right in with the previous tip. As a professional I am here to help in any way I can to ensure your day runs smoothly and you have a great time. I often think people forget that this is stuff we do all the time so sending an email or helping with permitting for venues I am always happy to help lend a hand and help anyway I can. Utilizing your vendors is the best way to get a professional to help ensure your day is exactly what you want and for you to sit back and enjoy. It is also a great way to have a good understanding of things you should be planning for or finding out about that you may have not thought of. Your vendors will know what it takes to get these things done and can help guide you through the process smoothly. 

It is so easy to forget to sit back and take a deep breathe every once in a while. Mind, body, and spirit are so important with so much going on in this time of your life. So be sure to schedule time for your self so you can take that deep breathe when your feeling like it is to much and remember that this is for you and your happiness even in the preparation of everything is important. So go take a night out grab a drink, schedule a massage, or go out for a long work what ever works for you to be able to take a minute when life becomes overwhelming in the planning of something so special to us and just relax for a moment and remember the importance of mind, body, and spirit. 

We all love mom and mom always has the best intentions but moms vision for how the day should go is not always the same vision we have and can be overwhelming in trying to ensure mom is happy and we get what we want. For mothers this day is so close to their hearts they generally want everything to be so perfect that they get very involved in the planning. Which can be great but can also be overwhelming so finding a way to keep mom involved so she is happy but also allowing your two visions not to but heads at times can be tricky. That is why having a plan for mom and what she can honestly do to help can be such a huge way to help her feel involved and also keep you both happy through out the day. Mom's almost always instinctively want to help so trust me when I say I am sure she will help out with what ever tasks you have for her that day. 

You have your'e make up done your wedding dress is on all your jewelry and accessories and shoes are looking great. Now you have all day to walk in those shoes. Don't forget about your poor feet. This tip is an easy one. I have seen brides have comfy shoes waiting for the bridal party at the reception to Brides who had on comfy converse no matter how you do it remember your feet and that if you have a large full day wedding with multiple locations you most likely will have a good amount of walking to do so have a plan for a way to save your feet so you can make it to the dance floor and have some fun late night with out sore feet.

We do all this planning for everything, we have our timeline ready, a plan for mom, we have stayed healthy through it all, and went through everything our vendors have told us to prepare for so aren't we done! Even if we put it all together properly some of the unknowns are always lerking in the background so the better we can think through some of these things and have a plan b ready the better we will if something arises. Weather is generally the elephant in the room especially if you are having an out door ceremony. So having a plan with your vendors and venues of what to do in case it rains is important and will help keep everything running smoothly. 

I put this tip on here because it is so easy to forget with everything that goes in to this day that at the end of it all it is about sharing memories with family and friends and enjoying good times with people we care about. There is no better way to let loose and enjoy good times then getting out on the dance floor and letting go. By this time of the day we can take that long awaited deep breathe you made it all the planning and preparation is over now you can dance with your new life partner, enjoy, and make memories that your photographer will capture and have for you to enjoy for a life time.
